Burning a disc;
Now there are basically two way's we can go about preparing our OS for installation onto our new hardware. Your OS that you choose, and download will come in an ISO file, basically an archive of many packed system file's. Burning allows the data to be unpacked, and written directly to the disc which is a more permanent solution if your always looking to keep a copy of a fresh OS around. This can be done by obtaining IMGBurn, installing it, and when open clicking 'write iso file to disc' or windows will sometimes have a Burn... option in the right click menu.

Another option is Win2Flash.
This nifty little program (if you are using windows) will take your windows ISO copy, and put it straight onto a USB flash drive, making it bootable, allowing you also to proceed with your installation. there are variant's of these for linux, I do beleive there is a linux2Flash.

Now the setting for the burn are completely up to your disc drive, and how it perform's/how fast it was made to write. AWS (MAX) burn settings usually work for all windows and linux distro's. and youll need minimum 4GB DVD+R's.

Cheers,
Illoquence

You'd really be better off going to 500, but its possible to build a "decent" machine for 400ish.

Using PCPP because it'll allow you to get more for your money. You'll have to buy from several different merchants but it allows you to save a few pounds here and there.

£10 over;

£400 rig;

£500 rig;

In any case, you'll want to add another 4GB RAM asap and an SSD. With the £500 rig, you can get an R9 285 for only £23 more than the 270, which I'd definitely suggest doing.

I prefer not to PM in case there's something I'm not so clued up on, or if I make a mistake. It's better to use the forums so that I can be corrected if wrong, and so that everyone can have their input. You can PM if you want though.
