-ToastinYou wrote I'd hate to get a 75 foot Ethernet cord and use horseshoe nails and nail the cord to my wall and drilling through the wall and putting it through there would be such a pain.i have a cable wire that goes to my basement from my living room (where my router is) and up to my room, would that work? Or would the Ethernet cord get ruined from the humidity and other things?

I forget what they're actually called, but it's something I use. You can buy a pair of wall plugs with ethernet ports in them. One goes next to your router, and one goes next to your PC, or in the closest socket anyway. You run an ethernet cable from your router to the plug next to it, and then an ethernet cable from the plug next to your PC, to your PC. It's still wired connection, and just as good as if you ran an ethernet cable from the router, directly to the PC.

Anyone know what this is called? And so I'm taking you buy two of them one goes next to your router and plugs into it with an Ethernet cord and then you have another which is somehow connected to the other one like a walking talkie or something and then you plug that into your of via an Ethernet cord? I'm not very tech savvy, sorry.

I don't fully understand them myself, but they're connected through your electricity or w/e.

I think it's something like this;

The powerline adapter is plugged into the electrical socket on the wall which then runs a ethernet cable from the adapter to your router. The other adapter is again plugged into the electrical socket on the wall nearest to your PC/console then another ethernet cable runs from that adapter to your PC/console and they do work for consoles.

This image should help you understand how it works better.

Awesome, thank you. Just a normal Ethernet cord off from amazon should work, correct?

Any ethernet cable should do just fine.
