When people say Xbox or Playstation, I'm pretty sure plenty of people still think of Xbox 360 or PS3 before the "next-gen" consoles.
I don't see a problem with it really.

And yes, i agree. Next gen should only be called next gen if it's not released yet.
What gets me is people who feel the need to bash consoles. Different experience if you ask me.
Which that clearly is...
Just don't see the point in buying something that outdated just because it's branded as "next gen"
People don't buy consoles for the hardware they buy them for the experience or budget reasons. PC master-racers don't seem to grasp this and point out the lacking hardware in almost any thread I see about consoles (bash).
Nobody argues that PCs don't perform better. I buy something "outdated" because I have fun playing with my friends, it's cheaper, and I prefer using a controller versus a mouse and keyboard. You don't need the latest and greatest to have fun.
I'm sorry, but right here we have an affordable PC that beats "Next-gen" consoles. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Not everyone wants to play a PC.
Why? It's better then a console in every way possible.
Bar the people I play with not having one and not wanting one, sure thing.
Personal preference my dears, it all comes down to personal preference.

I still say next gen, myself.
It doesn't really bother me, but I only have a 360 & PC so I guess that's why I still say it..

Everyone thinks of the PC community to be all arseholes about everything, but this isn't the case. It's just more grown up, you don't have 10 year old telling me they screwed my mum last night every game. That is one reason why my 360 will never see a power cord again.
Like r00t and NASUR said, for the same price as a "current-gen" console, you could have a whole PC with a fully functioning OS, that can also play games (with a controller if need be).... I just think there are no downsides to getting a PC for gaming, consoles will always be stuck in the past, when it comes to gaming anyway...
+ games are cheaper.

THANK YOU SO MUCH I always hear people call Xb1 + Ps4 "Next gen" while they're playing on their 360 or ps3 and I have to tell them every time "No, you're playing on last gen. You can't call XB1 and Ps4 next gen anymore. They've been out for going on 2 years now."

And for the same price via a console I can communicate with my friends in party chat and play FIFA against them. System link also when we all are at one place which has happened before.
So you can argue that PC's are better as we all know they are. As for no 10 year olds saying they **** your mum, there is a mute function, people do use it surprisingly.
Also, I would say FIFA on console is better than PC after playing the PC Fifa as well.

But Fifa... Who would buy a PC to play Fifa? You'd need literally no penis as tall to do something that stupid...
BTW, on PC you can also have party chats... It's called Skype.
PC has LAN Play - Exactly the same as system link...
See PC has everything ya'know
