1440p option. Easily add a 2nd 970 but you'll want to add an SSD when you can, and a cooler for the 4690k.
oooor 1080p option;

Better case, an SSD and a great cooler for the 4690k. You can still easily add another 970 in SLI, but at 1080p, it won't make much difference. Still the option though in case you decide on this and then upgrade to 1440p, the SLI 970's would be a benefit for 1440p, but then it's a $700 or so upgrade if you decide to do that(a single 970 will still run 1440p fairly well).

I have an old monitor that I can use that will do the job until I can buy a 1440p monitor im not sure how that will effect what parts I can upgrade
