DOT WARRIORS PAIR REVIEW

If you are looking for a casual/RPG game that would be challenging and at the same time funny and kinda new, then Dot Warriors Pair is what you had been looking for.

Dot Warriors Pair is a casual/RPG mobile game that will test the speed of your fingers. Tap the right combination of the panels as fast as possible and take out your opponent. But wait, you may right now be thinking of Flappy Bird or Dont Tap the White Tiles; however Dot Warriors Pair has the very ingredient that these two games were lacking to begin with; a story line.

II. Storyline: The story revolves around slaying Demon Lords that has been causing an uproar and havoc in the land by summoning monsters. You will initially get to be as the Hero Geron who was beaten to a pulp by a mere level 1 Jelly monster. A devil offered a deal wherein he will grant power to Geron in exchange for a certain task, to slay the Demon Lords. Geron accepted the deal and went on in his quest where he encountered wacky friends and colleagues along the way. Unfortunately though, there are some parts of the translations that doesnt seem to make sense but are still understandable for some reason.

III. Game Play: Gameplay is really simple; you just need to match the tiles that are shown on top of the screen by tapping the panels as fast as you can (yes, pretty much like tapping that stupid bird in Flappy Bird and the dropping black tiles in the Piano Tiles). You only have up to 2 seconds to do this or your character will lose HP. Its a matter of a quick hand to eye coordination if you ask me. If you are yearning for an even harder opponent then you will want to play either the challenge mode or the coliseum. Upgrading your character is a must though.
a. Upgrading: Requires those small round pebbles like thing that come in 4 colors Red, Blue, Green, and Purple. Your characters level is pretty much determined by the number of stars above its head. Funny the Devs allowed downgrading anytime but you wont get the spent pebble back. (I like calling them pebbles because there is another item that you use to buy heroes and retry lost battles.
b. Challenge Mode: Now this is a tricky feature and it took me more than a couple of hours just to get the basic sense of it. Challenge basically lets you battle monsters depending on your level and you will get to own a certain number of territories after winning matches.
c. Coliseum: I hate this. I just freaking hate it. I dont know, maybe I just simply dont understand how it works or maybe I dont care anymore. I HAVENT WON A SINGLE MATCH IN IT! *@#&@*#$&!!!!

IV. Graphics/BGM: It is an 8bit game and everything is pixelated just like that of its fellow games that pretty much only requires you to tap on your phones screen ( I cant imagine we would get back to playing games that looks like this, but we love it damn!)
Music-wise, I didnt really expect to hear some awesome BGM for the game since the graphics goes hand in hand with the BGM. But if youll ask me, the BGM of this game is almost nostalgic. It somehow reminds me of the good old days playing super Mario brothers on a console that has no memory card. LOL. I am starting to sound melodramatic here.

V. Game Comparison: The game is comparable to many a game that has the same concept of tapping your way with it. I think Ive mentioned 2 of them already in this review. Perhaps the most popular game that is known that has this kind of concept was Flappy Bird. Too bad it was removed from the google market due to some reasons. But right now, whenever I am thinking of a Tapping Game, only 3 pops up in mind: Crossy Road, Mola-Mola, and lastly, Dot Warriors Pair. Now in my humble opinion, the only edge that DWP has got versus the 2 former games mentioned is that the story line is funny-something to look forward to after every battle so you arent only stuck with blind monster-slaying of some sort and it really gives you a story.

VI. Premium Item: This is one of the downside of this game, you are to buy controllers, pebbles, or gems if you arent the type to wait until your controllers are replenished, upgrade your characters or even buy new ones. Gems can only be acquired either thru the item mall or by acquiring achievements. Pebbles can be obtained by simply defeating monsters, and the controllers, well, you have got to wait.
Final Verdict: This game is action-packed in a sense that once you started to play the game you wouldnt take your eyes off of it. Story line is funny and there are several characters to use (in the challenge/coliseum feature). You wouldnt end up wondering which phase of the game you are in the story. If you are looking for a casual/RPG game that has all the necessary ingredients in making it as interesting as possible, then I would recommend DWP.
