I recently got accepted into Chemical Engineering in Newcastle uni just wanted to see your guys opinions on the matter.

Chemical engineering is definitely high up there! Starting your own company can have the highest outcome of profit, but not all of them work out, they are also tons of work. In my opinion entrepreneurship, especially for tech startups, is the highest work/reward job and can be the highest paying job aswell.

True start ups like Facebook and Snapchat have had major success i see it going in this direction for years as we develop different software.

Yeah those are just the major conglomerates, there are many smaller ones that are super successful as well, such as Air BNB. They are getting bigger everyday and started as two guys just a few years ago.
