Im looking to startup a shop and I am well aware of chargeback etc. Is there a way to prevent this?

Im not sure exactly what you can do to prevent it but I can tell you that it is extremely annoying. I used to sell stuff through paypal and it was a nightmare.

Then why would you even respond to him?

A way to make sure you don't chargebacks, is to make sure people send money as a gift. That's how I've always done it.

Just make sure you take proof of them actually agreeing to buy your services , Also they still can charge back if they send the money as a gift.

I have never had a chargeback honestly i dont even know what thay are but i have done many transactions on paypal (over 200 because im a sneaker head and i buy and sell shoes over the internet.

It depends on what kind it is.
You can't fight a credit card fraud chargeback, however you can fight a faulty refund chargeback.

I once sold a PS3 on eBay a few years ago. The guy tried to charge back, but I won because he refused to send it back + said it was broken when it was actually brand new.

I've never had anyone charge back on me. Always keep logs of your transactions, and proof that you actually kept your part in the transaction. Also verified Paypal members usually have an edge in winning disputes. Calling them directly also helps.
