hi, thanks for taking a look, i hope you can help!

Years ago i bought an iPod touch 2nd gen, second hand, everything was working fine, i decided i wanted to restore it to factory settings, i wiped the device, tried turning it back on and i just got the "Connect to iTunes" screen went ahead and connected to iTunes and tried to restore.

it says "extracting software" and then "preparing iPod for restore" after around 8mins it gives me an error saying.. "the iPod "iPod" could not be restored, an unknown error occurred (2005)

I decided to try an earlier version of iTunes but had no luck.
I tried disabling all security software but had no luck.
I tried to re-install all drivers, usb ports, and thirdy party apps but still no luch.
I then went ahead and decided to try and jailbreak to see if it would work, it come on, it now has the time and battery life symbol, which wasnt there before i jailbroke.
its just displaying a little Locked Pad-Lock at the top of the screen along with the "Connect to iTunes"

still receiving error "2005" when trying to restore, also not restoring in DFU Mode?

help help help!!!

That error usually is related to issues with a USB connection. Check out the quoted section from the iTunes update and restore errors article below.

Check USB connections
If theres an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] , then [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] .
Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, invalid response, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.
