Theres my internet info. Im trying to download Bad Company 2 on Steam but it is taking FOREVER. Its downloading at 314 KB/S aprox. and its really bugging me. It should be going at least 10 Mbps and I want to know why it isnt. Thanks.

answer is strictly for the cookie


in steam click steam in the top left> then settings> downloads+cloud> Download reigion> then open a browser page and go to [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and find a low load server near your country> in the drop down in the download reigion box change to the country you chose in the previous step> restart steam.


the downloads are so slow atm because its the christmas sale and like everyone is downloading something so its wise to switch away from the UK server till christmas is over.

really you cant increase internet speed as i know it?

as my serves provider Comcast has extremly fast intnernet connect

What wilsamacgilsa said may work, however I know that steams download speed is a server side problem, it's not beacuse your internet is slow, it is just that everyone is downloading at the same time.

it defo works i did it when i had to re download CS. it was going anywhere from 100kb/s to 16 bytes a second D:. Changed to south africa and was back up to about half of my normal speed and the download took about 5 mins as its only 800mb

54mbps is the speed in which data is transmitted from your computer to your router.

The download speed is the speed your ISP gives you. From them to your router.
