I do believe that if governments went public about Alien life it would be under one of two situations.
The aliens are now threatening us.
or
One government threatens to tell if the USA doesn't (Like this situation)
I don't think that this is true by any means.
It would be headlines on major news outlets.
Especially the ones that are Anti Obama.
