Okay, so I got a new television for christmas, so I dismantled my consoles from my old television and found that one of my xbox wires were almost ripped apart, hanging by a thread almost, the wire I am talking about is not the big chunky wire, but the wire which has the Red/Yellow/White connecters.
So, I was curios if these would work again on the new television, they didn't, by the time I got the wires in, 2 out of the three colures had ripped apart from each other, leading me with no xbox .
Is their anyway to get my xbox on without getting a new yellow/white/red cable? The only other cable I got with the xbox was a HDMI, would that do? Or will I have to buy a new cable?
I'll plus rep to the person with a detailed answer, thansk!

Just go buy a new wire.
It will save you a lot of trouble.

I think that hdmi would work, but of course you need an hd tv.

Those cables are for Audio Video and sound quality you only need the yellow one to see the picture and red or white for sound,if you have turtle beaches you dont need the red or white one so you could use those, which in my case i do.
However if the yellow one is broken your going to need new cables, but if you have the HD cables you can use those but you'll need a red, white and yellow splitter to put them in unless your new tv has the slots for them instead.
THese red, yellow and white ones come from most things and you may have some lying about the house you get them with any electronic thing involoving a tv e.g. Frreview/sky box,ps3,xbox,playsation 2/1

You could probably use the HDMI to hook it up to a compatible tv or to a laptop

You need the HDMI cables for the xbox PLUS the red and white (no yellow) from that other side. Otherwise the HD wont work, *well it will, but you wont have any sound*. Id recommend buying a new cab
