I wouldn't recommend EVGA PSUs, their other products are fine, but I've had 2 EVGA PSUs crap out on me in 3 months (each).

bad personal experiences don't make a product bad, the EVGA units are some of the best about.

I'd recommend getting a higher wattage power supply if you're going to get a high end GPU. Above 600w, check the GPU requirements and it should say what the minimum watts it needs.

you can run a 970 off a good quality 450w unit easily. newer cards are a lot more power efficient now a days.

My current MSI 760 twin frozr requires 500w minimum so I was just going off of that, but as you said they're more power efficient now so it could well possibly run off a 450w unit.

You could run a 970 off a lower unit but personally i would rather go with a 450w unit +

*sigh* so much misinformation in here. So, first of all, the CiT PSU in OP is pathetic, don't touch that thing. GTX 960 is also pretty poor but their aren't many AMD cards left in the wild anymore with the 300 series coming so soon so I suppose a 960 would make sense if you had a lower budget but since you can afford 970, get it. The Corsair unit suggested is poor, and the user who suggested it doesn't know what he's talking about because EVGA's newer units are fantastic. I'd argue that the EVGA 750G2 is one of the best PSU's on the market at the moment. It's a Super flower LeadEx unit with improvements, so it's amazing. The 550GS is a Seasonic OEM PSU and is also great. You do not need anywhere near 600W for a GTX 970, nor do you need anywhere near 500W for a GTX 760. A good quality 350W-380W unit will run a 970 rig. Wattage doesn't matter nearly as much as quality does.

I was merely talking about the Supernova Nex, I mistook the PSU he suggested as it. I corrected myself as well. No need to call me out, I admitted I had mistaken.

You can upgrade pre built? I thought you would need to switch all part but the psu is garbage get a evga psu for gpu get 970 as you have enough money for it case may need to be upgraded

A good quality and efficient 350w could run a 960
