So ive just bought counter-strike: global offensive.

and whistle the game is downloading, i was wondering if a wired xbox360 controller will work on this game?

Yes a wired Xbox Controller will work with CSGO but you will need to execute the 360 controller config in CSGO in order to get the analog sticks working.

wouldn't recommend it keyboard & mouse is far superior.

A wired controller works on near enough any PC Game.
I'd suggest using the keyboard and mouse if their's multiple controls.
