IM with you most of my friend are into cars. so we get along.

Have no clue about cars, the names of them or anything lol.

All my friends from school are more or less just like "it's a car" but i have met some people Green Laning who are into bikes (I am obviously too) so it works fine.

People don't understand my love for classic cars
They look at my 1991 Mini, see the rust, the flaking paint and the tiny 40bhp engine, the lack of power steering and all these modern technologies and ask me why I have a car without them. What surprises them more is that I say i find it easier to drive without power steering, abs etc and it makes you feel more in control of the vehicle, instead of the ECU. It's a thing that unless you're the same, it makes no sense. The problem is that non car people see it as a way to get from A to B and just a metal 'box' that moves, however we car people see it as far more than that. It's an escape, a release from stress, an individual being that we embrace every time we use it. It's our passion.
That, and car parts are hella cheap xD

You made a great post, I and many other car guys would assume older cars are better, correct? I'm not one for classics but I can see why they are loved.

I don't have non-car guy friends.My circle of friends revolved around High School automotive classes.

"Subies are cool"
"(name your brand) is gay"
"What's that pedal on the far left?"
"The thingy on the thing connected to the thingamajig is squeeking"
"My Civic makes 700 hp at the wheels"
"That car is fast (as they point at a car with racing stripes)"
"I can spin my tires so I'm practically a racer"
"My CAI gave me 40 HP"
"Wings and spoilers make my car fast"
"Yeah, I'm going to put an LS1 in my Prius"
"WTF, I can't find JDM parts for my Camaro"


I could go on all day lol.
