Is it against the rules to do a giveaway of Xbox Live Codes , I have some codes from random old 360 games and willing to give them away to someone who need them, but didn't want to break the rules

Yes, that is against the rules.

1.7 Any type of sales/trades/giveaways are prohibited. Gold members are allowed to post TTG Gold giveaways in the Off-Topic Discussion Forum. Exceptions to this rule are made in the Marketplace sections and for Gold members where stated.
