another thing that bothers me, is when people have their name in their avatar. Now I KNOW it shouldn't bother me, ya ya. But to me it doesn't make sense to put your name twice. You have a username for a reason, why not make your avatar something else.. obviously some users have a pass because their username is already an existing thing, but sometimes it just doesnt fit well.

People who put the name at the end of their paragraph or sentence do it to make it look formal.

It makes them think they have better grammar or something along those lines.

They're only doing it because their reply to the post isn't long enough to break the 20 characters. Just downvote the **** and hope you don't see them in the forums again.

I do it because in my opinion it looks more formal.. I never do it to "break the 20 character" bullshit.

Let's be honest, people do it just because they want to look "cool" and different with their little signature. Doesn't bother me as much as it used to. But still, it looks dumb.

That is actually exactly why they do it.

You're on a forum with a member base average age of around 14. Formality isn't a pressing matter here

Why do you need more advertising than McDonalds and KFC combined?
Most people seem to think that your name and a signature - if you're a Gold member - is enough.

I have to agree with you here. There is no need to have your name 4 times.
It isn't formal either.
When you write a letter you dont put you name at the top and at the bottom.
Everyone knows who you are. You have a name at the top of the post.

It is especially not needed if you have a signature. That is the point of having one.
