Oh yeah, because the Swastika killed millions of people, right? You're argument about the confederate flag is that just because it was used by racists, doesn't mean the flag itself is racist. If that's true, the exact same applies for the Swastika, especially since it was actually used by many before the Nazi's came around, as a symbol of peace and tranquility. I'm not saying either flag is or isn't racist, but if you argue that the confederate flag isn't racist and the swastika is, you're being a complete hypocrite and it's that simple.
Didn't say the swastika killed the people but the people be hide the flag did what Im saying since you didn't get my point is the swastika is more hated on than the Confederate flag
Now that we're on the same page do you see what im saying people be hide the flags are the racists now, not the flags

I'm not saying the confederate flag is racist. No offence, but I personally don't care. I don't mean that in a harsh way at all, but I'm Scottish and the confederate flag doesn't really mean anything to me, nor does the Swastika. All I'm saying is that if you're arguing that the Confederate flag is not racist, you must feel the same about the Swastika, otherwise you're just being a complete hypocrite. Which FYI, I'm not saying you are, I'm just pointing out that the same arguments used to defend the Confederate flag, can be used to defend the Swastika.

Sadly there's no getting through to some people. If you can't see how it is potentially offensive there's something wrong with you, plain and simple.

I agree with this point because I very much can see how it could be seen as offensive. To add to the discussion though, I don't feel like everyone who is proud(?) of the confederate flag are necessarily racist ir purposely trying to offend anyone. Much the same as many people still use and refer to the Swastika as a sign of peace and tranquility but then there are the assholes out there who think "hurr durr, I'm a racist, gon' get me a Swastika tat" or some shit.

99% of people who own a confederate flag are usually racist.

We couldn't possibly know if they're racist from the photos you've provided. Just because they're black however, does not mean they aren't racist so yes, potentially.

Some of you that might recognize me on this site might remember how my avatar has had a confederate flag from 2012-2015. I am from North Carolina and a southerner. For a long time I believed that it represented heritage and southern pride. I have changed my stance and am now against it. I will explain why.
-The flag represented a unrecognized country that committed treason on the US.
-It is not even the real flag of the Confederacy
-Between 1865 and the 1920s it was rare to see the flag until the second rise of the KKK
-It represents "The South" and may I remind you what the South is known for
-The flag did not appear on southern government owned property until the Civil Rights Movement
-The Confederacy was fighting for the right to own slavery in the first place and started a war killing hundreds of thousands of Americans so that a few hundred plantation owners in the south could keep their cheap labor at the expense of some kids life
If you want to fly the flag your front yard, that is your right under the first amendment. But a flag that for most of America represents hate, discrimination, slavery, treason and bigotry should not be flying over public land in front of a capital building. The argument of southern heritage is a lie that you have been fed and bought. Take the flag down and put it where it belongs, a museum.
To deny is offensive to people makes one a bigot. As stated earlier the flag was rarely used between the civil war and the second rise of the KKK. The flag was used during the civil rights era almost entirely by white supremacists that wanted segregation, Jim Crow Laws and to stop the voting rights act. The flag represents a country that wanted to succeed from the US so that it could keep and expand slavery.
All of you who want to support it should take a minute to just learn history.

When I used the confederate flag as my avatar on this site for over 3 years I looked at it as southern pride. Upon actually educating myself on the matter I lost respect at the flag and today cringe at the thought of me using it. I do believe that the reason many still use it is just A. Ignorance or B. They are just plain racists. For most of the people on this site and in America, I do believe that A applies to them.
As for the swastika most of the people that still see it as a symbol of peace and love are from South Asia. Most in the Western world see it just as the Nazi Party symbol.
