Yes they use the same socket.

As r00t said, 775 is a dead socket, no point putting any money into it
It is highly advisable to upgrade to LGA1150.

Cant afford it. I have 45 dollars on amazon. and im going to already build another in christmas im just stuck with this till then

Christmas isn't that far away and it isn't worth it to upgrade it if you are going to upgrade it again in 5 months.
Especially as the CPU is $170...

Like others have said its worth upgrading to a more alive socket but i just answered your question simply because i don't want 10000 questions to follow or another topic to be started like this one.
