Is it possible to fix a hard drive as mine is stopping my Xbox from reading disks and makes it take a lifetime to start up when I take it out it is perfectly fine is it possible to fix ? If not where can I get a cheap replacement it only needs to be 20gb thanks for any help

Are you sure its your hard drive? or console its self?

Slow boot times could be early symptoms of e74.

How is your HDD stopping your console from reading discs?

Sounds like a problem with your disc tray, which would probably need repairs.

Well as soon as I take my hard drive out my console works perfectly so...

Well I would copy as much stuff as you can to a flash drive now just in case your hard drive is about to fail. Just game saves that you care about, you can get profile and DLC from xbox live again. If you have and old xbox360 there is a 20 gig hard drive on e bay for $7 if you have a slim there is one for $11.
