Is there a way to definitely fix it?
Also if I got a new one how would I need to install it?

what does it say when you put the game in? Insert disc? Mixed media disc?

What's the exact error? Unrecognizable disc? Open tray? Disc unreadable?
If anything you will most likely have to replace the laser on the drive

it varies sometimes it will read and as soon as it starts it says disc can't read, or it will just keep saying open tray like no disc is in or it will say play DVD

There are a couple different stores that can fix them. I took my to gamestop and they tried to but failed. Then i tried a game store named " The Exchange" and they had it fixed in half an hour. Also you can replace the laser drive on it. look up a tutorial on it

i haven't went to stores for it but I looked it up to get a new drive and it's not a lot of money just i dont know how to install it

If you want to be able to replace ur whole drive, please take to acount that ur new drive is the same version (eg. BenQ) then you will have to extract ur (Drive key) from ur original drive and spoof it on ur new one.

Once you have done all that u can plug ur drive in and away u go

The lazer could be dirty. You can try buying those disks that have the brushes on them that clean lazers but there is no guarantee
