What do you guys think about Extortion 17? If you don't know what it is, it was basically a mission in Afghanistan in which around 30 soldiers were shot down in a Chinook. Most of which were highly trained soldiers and most say that the Chinook was carrying Seal Team 6 (the team who took down Osama Bin Laden).

I have read a couple sources, and few say that Seal Team 6 was not actually aboard this aircraft, but rather specialized soldiers whom the media classified as Seal Team 6 but was not actually the same people who took down Bin Laden. The majority, however, claim that the real Seal Team 6 died.

Some interesting facts are that they used a CH-47 rather than a MH-47 (the standard Chinook used by Seal Team 6). The CH-47 was an outdated Chinook. Also, they used 1 Chinook to transport 30+ men, while in most missions they were have said to split them into small groups across a couple of Chinooks. Also the black box (the device that is said to be indestructible which holds all valuable data such as cockpit recordings, flight plans, etc.) was failed to be located. The bodies were immediately cremated without permission from the families. Most missions such as this also require a gunship escort, but this one did not.

Now of course, this is just information that I have received from a few media sources which can be at times skewed, so if you have any relevant information regarding the "truth", feel free to post.

Personally I think it could be very possible they were setup. Maybe not exactly from the Obama administration, but from various Afghan organizations of the sort. Plus, the supposed Seal Team 6 who was on the aircraft did just kill the Al Qaeda leader.
