So I tried installing the new CPU and Mobo and forgot that I had files that I need on the HDD that I want to reinstall Windows 7 on. I am going from AMD to Intel so I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to reinstall Windows. When I had my new CPU and Mobo installed I would only blue screen after trying to run the HDD with Windows 7 on it. So after I get all my files that I need transferred over to another HDD, how do I reinstall Windows 7 on that HDD after I install the new CPU and Mobo? When running the Windows 7 installer will the HDD I want to reinstall Windows 7 on automatically format itself?

Almost everywhere I've looked says I'm most likely going to have to reinstall Windows since all the drivers are different since I'm going from AMD to Intel hardware.

Sure, get an ISO from the interwebs and use a USB to install it.
Just don't format the drive if u still need the files.

Okay I already have a USB that is boot ready with Windows 7. When I install the new hardware back and have the USB plugged in should I be able to reinstall Windows 7 fine even though that HDD already has Windows 7? Sorry if this is a dumb question, just don't want to have to install my old hardware again because I did something wrong.

Yes, just use the upgrade options to keep your files.
