But it will be stretched (or compressed) as you gain or lose weight. Take a sharpy and a piece of rubber. Write something on that piece of rubber and stretch it. That is the effect of a tattoo on your skin as it expends. Now while having that piece of rubber stretched, write something on it and let it go back to its original state. It won't be legible. They get stretched, compressed, and faded. Prime example:

I think tattoos should mean something. You see all of these people with random tattoos like Scooby-Doo or their favorite basketball team. I do want one, I have it all drawn out and an estimate was given to me I just don't have the money. All of my tattoos are going to mean something.

Think about this. A lot of people get tattoos because they like something, for example my brothers ex girlfriend got a tattoo of a chicken feather because she liked her chickens. Is she still going to like chickens in 5, 10, 20, 30 years?
You probably liked the land before time, or pokemon when you where a kid. Imagine if you got a pokemon tattoo. How would you feel about it now?
Tattoo's are permanent, your thoughts, likes, and dislikes are not.

Laser removal exist and tattoo touch-ups are a thing. When you get a tattoo, you are supposed to go in for a touch-up six months to a year. If it gets stretched out, get a touch-up. If it gets faded, get a touch-up. Tattoo shops charge you $25 for a touch-up.

When ink expands, you can't do anything to it. It will be blurry like the last picture I posted, nothing you can do.
