I use Avast, great antivirus. Blocks out all suspicious downloads, websites and what not.

HUCCII hit the nail on the head.

Avast is the best FREE anti-virus out there. It does a great job in picking up suggested theats, malicious programs, dodgy websites if you come across them & doesn't come with any junk-ware when you download it.

I have personally used Avast on all my systems and have never came across any fault with it yet.

Go with Avast, I highly recommend it.

I agree with using Avast as a method of protecting yourself from harmful websites and malicious downloads. If you think you already have a virus though, I would try Malwarebytes. I have had more success using their full system scam as opposed to Avasts to pick up any virus's I already had.

Malwarebytes premium does a decent job as most Viruses are malware.
Avast has become bloated but it's okay.
