If one of my mates had a game downloaded on steam and put the file on a usb, and i also had the game but not installed can i put it on my computer and would it stil work or not? thanks

Yea i think it'll work.. As long as you definitely have the game on Steam.

Yes. Your friend should copy the game from the steam library folder.

Default is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GAMENAME

You must copy it to the same location, assuming you haven't remapped your steam library path in the settings.
