The easiest thing to do is download a modpack launcher such as the FTB or Technic packs.

You can then either use the official modpacks that are built in to the launcher or use a modpack download url and download any random community packs from the forums.

Deano pretty much covered it all. But what i will say is, what are you using the modpack for? What are you looking for in a mod pack? I.e RPG themed modpack, using tech to help you with survival or just to have fun with friends?

RPG: Hack / Mine avaliable through the technic Launcher.

Tech: Direwolf20 Avaliable through Feed The Beast Launcher.

Fun With Friends: Voltz.
