I was playing on a tv in my living room and had Turtle beaches hooked up to the tv via red and white audio cables. I got a new tv and moved my setup into a spare bedroom and now the game/chat sound from my turtle beach does not work, but it does from my adapter for the controller.
-I can not turn down game volume or chat sound from the actual headset, i have to use the adapter. Before it worked the other way around, which is what i prefer as it is hard to get that perfect balance otherwise.

Check if the LED on the turtle beach headset turns on, if it doesn't try switching USB ports.
Or look for a headphone jack on your TV, and instead of plugging the headset through the red and white cables just plug it in the headphone jack.
