Suppressional wrote So your throwing a fit because i used optimized to summarize nvidias publicity and in game graphical settings. Iv looked at benchmarks, and know the performance difference. Youd be an idiot not to research before purchasing anything at this price point. When it comes down to the grit of my decision i chose the 970 because i wanted the newer maxwell architecture rather than the re used hawaii architecture(i believe is the name) orginally used on the 290x and transferred to the 390. And from what i have seen as far as architectural differences, The maxwell architecture runs better with DX12.1 than can be said for the 390. I mean dont get me wrong, 8gb of vram vs 4 and the slightly lower clock speeds wouldve been nice and more "future proof" but i like nvidias features and UI (Geforce Experience) better. Not to mention the backplate and backlit windforce logo. Im big on aesthetics as well, and there was only one version of the 390 with a backplate. (Asus strix) didnt want because it was too short and i wanted a max length 450MM card. Do you get it now m8?

If you meant it like that, you would have worded it differently. You even used to word "optimized" wrong.

The 390 has better DX12 support. The 290x performs on par with the 970, by the way.

You never said anything about aesthetics until now. Again, if you're big on aesthetics, fine, of course the 970 looks better. Performance wise, the 390 will out-perform it plus it has better DX12 support.

Linear wrote If you're running at 1080p then I don't really understand the 970 purchase, unless you're really annoyed about power usage, or you play games without xfire support...

It's also a little weird to upgrade the case when you're getting a card which will output less power.

A little off topic but i run 1080p with a 980 ti lol
