Hello TTG. I need a build for 600 GBP. Gaming at 1080p and playing all the new games. Gta and skyrim with mods etc.
Im looking at this [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . With the Sapphire R9 380 Nitro 4GB.
I would like the build on Scan or CCL. I have that free shipping with Scan. The build with an i5 and a 380 4gb or better. Im fine without an SSD unless you can add a 250gb within the budget.
What is your budget and currency? 600 GBP
Do you need a monitor? No
Do you need a keyboard? No
Do you need a mouse? No
Do you need an operating system? Arr mateys ;) (No)
What will you use the PC for? Mainly gaming but i will start to write code and use Visual Studio and Unreal Engine. I would also like to be able to render the odd youtube video.
Anything else? Just ask.
Thanks

Bit more expensive, but Skylake and SLI support. It'd be worth spending the extra £20 for the i5-6500 over the 6400 IMO. You could save £20 and get this PSU;

but if you wanted to add a 2nd 380 in XFire, it'd be a tight squeeze. You could save some money by getting a 120GB Kingston Fury SSD. You could also spend a little extra for a 2TB Barracuda instead.

I would rather go with haswell and get the 4gb variant of the 380 as mods with skyrim (especially textures) would benefit from the extra vram.
I only have 600 gbp aswell. aswell as ordering it all from scan is more convenient.

The extra VRAM doesn't make the card any better. Better off saving the £25 IMO and just getting a 2GB 380.

If you go with the eBuyer or CCL option, you have about £10 of wiggle room for anything. All 3 have XFire support.

Wouldn't the case need support for 5 pci expansion slots, since the second x16 slot is on the 4th row on all the motherboards and the r9 380 is a dual slot card?
