I never learned it in school, but learned it my senior year in a military school where all time ran on 24 hour 'military' time

My teacher would give some quizzes on the subject, so I am aware of the 24 hour clock. But the point you brought up that made me laugh is "your clock goes up to 14?!" Its fine not knowing the 24 hour clock, but at least know of it.

I know 24 hour times and I'm in the US, but I don't use it. There is literally no reason for someone to use it whenever it's easier on people's minds when just using A.M or P.M

I find the 24 hour clock much easier to use, but i still use 12 hour clock because people don't get what i say sometimes. "16 o' clock, what!?"

I'm from the US I was never taught how to read a 24 hour clock in the disgrace of an education system we have here but I learned it myself over time its really not that hard.

As you already know now, we do not learn it in the US but I still find it pretty easy to read a 24 hour clock. Although I do prefer the 12 hour (A.M. and P.M.)

A 12 hours clock is standard in the US, the only time 24 hour clocks are used is in terms of military, hence why we gave it the name military time. If I ask you the time and you tell me "17:24" I will say "Ok smartass, American terms, what time is it?"
