How do I access director mode in gta5? Is it offline or online. Can't find it anywhere

If you want to record in online, hold down on the d-pad and options will show up on the left hand side of your screen.
If you want to edit the clips you have made and/or use director mode, go into single player and make sure you are not in a vehicle then follow this guide: Start > Rockstar Editor > Enter Rockstar Editor
