I have a few people in my family who've died from lung cancer and other diseases related to smoking. That said I don't really care if people smoke as long as they don't do it around me, in my car, or home. I also think it definitely should be banned in public places like restaurants. Second hand smoke is a very real thing and I don't believe others should have to suffer because of your habit. I don't really understand why people want to do it. I know people who get winded just by walking up a flight of stairs just because they smoke. The odor is foul, it causes all kind of health issues, it makes your skin age faster to the point of you possibly looking years older than you are, and you definitely don't look cool doing it like plenty of people seem to think. Hey if you want to do it though no one is stopping you. That doesn't mean people won't have a different opinion on it than you though.

It's not worth my health or anyones health for that matter. if you were smart you wouldn't smoke. but in reality everyone is addicted to something. whether its good or bad.

You get cancer from anything. I don't use that as a valid reason to quit. However it's bad on your teeth, lungs, and it hurts others around you.

No one can make you stop but to be fair there's no reason to smoke even if you can.

Plus it's an expensive habit.

I dislike people smoking plainly because the tax payer foots the bill for the future complications. Always thought if you can pay to smoke you can pay the medical bill for the inevitable future complications

... Smoking has different effects on different people. Someone could smoke five packs a day and live to be 100, or someone could smoke five packs a day and die in a short time... it all depends.

Why would this hypothetical person be dead ? Are you suggesting cancer if so then you obviously don't understand how little impact on the death rate smoking caused cancer has and that smoking is one of hundreds of things that cause cancer just like bacon.
