After leaving the vault (or at any point) go back to your old house and enter your sons old room. His "You're S.P.E.C.I.A.L" book will be on the ground and activating it will give you one bonus S.P.E.C.I.A.L point!

Just started playing the game, this is gonna help once I leave the vault for sure.
