I was console banned and I'm just wondering am I able to use thst hardrive on my new console. Or will I get instantly console banned or anything?

Yes, you can use the HDD on a new xbox.

When you get console banned, they ban the console ID, nothing else.

Yes you are able to use your hard drive but when they console banned you they probably banned most or all of the accounts associated with that console.
