What is making you want the 970 and monitor so much?

The 970 is a good card but you're better of with a 390.
The monitor is nothing special as well. If anything, I'd look into a nice 1440p monitor instead.

You could go Skylake and get a 6700 but then you would also need new RAM, you would probably have to drop the SSD completely with the premium for Skylake. As your budget isn't huge, a 970 would be better over the 390 as a large PSU for XFire capabilities would be more expensive. A 970 for 1080p is pretty much a standard now for newer, demanding games so although that monitor in particular isn't great, at least the card will be able to run it.

Slightly over, if you can't spend the extra 20 quid then get a 250GB 850 Evo instead of the 500GB. New ATX case, Xeon to improve gaming performance, 650W PSU for SLI possibilities in the future, 500GB SSD as you don't have one already.

I was advised the 970 from a few people on reddit, cant remember their exact reasons, I guess i will look into the 390,

The monitor, I dont really see myself playing games at 1440 for a while, I heard a lot of good things about it, also i do play csgo quit a lot and 144hz seems like a good idea for that

So, you have about £1000 then? For all of your upgrades, including monitor and GPU? Don't get that shitty BenQ panel. You can get a 144Hz panel much cheaper, or you could just get a better panel and OC it yourself, I'd be going with a higher resolution, as opposed to a higher refresh rate, however.

You do not "need" new RAM for Skylake, there are DDR3 compatible LGA1151 motherboards. I wouldn't recommend using DDR3 with Skylake though, it's just worth upgrading to DDR4 if you're going Sylake IMO.

Pretty much the same, but with 16GB DDR4. You could save £35 or so, by only getting 8GB RAM if you prefer. Either way, £250+ left for monitor, which will easily get you a nice monitor, 1440p if you wish. The U2515H from Dell is a good 1440p panel, usually pretty cheap.

More expensive because SLI support is more expensive on motherboards, you could save £20 if you got an ATX mobo with SLI support(like the Z170 Krait), but then you'd need to get an ATX case, like an S340 or Enthoo Pro M or something, which will put the cost up slightly more again. You will need to get new RAM with Skylake if you go with the 970 and want SLI support, motherboards with SLI support only support DDR4. There are no LGA1151 mobos with DDR3 compatibility that support SLI.
