380 is a better option. 380>960

Its ok

960 is mid entry I would say. Expect 1080p max for all games if you have a decent cpu to accompany the card. Also you are getting an ACX cooled SSC which is overclocked out of the box from EVGA and has some potential for more with the cooling it has.

Maxwell architecture allows for more power efficient operation too.

I like Nvidia, never once failed me and usually run cool. Drivers are easy to install and customize, and nvidia control panel is nice too. AMD runs a little hotter, and can have spotty performance. Its cheaper though.

This ^^

The difference between the 380 and 960 is minimal. under 5 fps if that.

But the 960 has more features that you're likely going to use over the 380. Geforce Experience is just getting better and better atm. So it's probably what I'd go for.

The 380 is on average, 5FPS ahead at 1440p. It's just the better card, there's no denying that. At 1440p, the gap is larger and the 380 wins. The 960 is still a fine choice for a 380 competitor with NVidia exclusive features, but the 380 is just better. Similar acoustics, temperatures, efficiency, and price, and the 380 performs better in almost every game, if not all.

Radeon Software Crimson is looking decent. GFE is nice, but it wouldn't be the deciding factor for me.

Isn't that what I said?

GFE is much better IMO, has more features that you actually use. Support for streaming to Shield devices (Big one for me) and the overall power consumption is lower.

Also who has 1440p and is looking to buy a 380? That's just silly IMO unless you play csgo.

I was just clarifying. I used 1440p as an example because the 960 is closer to the 380 at 1440p, the 380 is even better at 1080p. 380 would easily play games at 1440p, high. Although, 1080p is more realistic.

The 380 IRL, won't be pulling much more than a 960. Some 960's will use more power than some 380's.

Lets be honest, if you're spending money on a GTX960 you aren't spending it on 1440p.

Realistically, but probably not. What I'm saying though, is that the 380 is still better than the 960 at 1080p, and the performance gap is larger, than at 1440p. The 380 is the better card, unless you require something NVidia/960 specific.

Okay so I could spend the money on the 380 right now, But would it be better to wait or is £128.52 a solid price for it? Because I have the rest of the computer to get but only about £200 to spend so I am wondering what to look for in black friday.
