imgur wrote I'm not even gonna tackle the capital punishment debate that's going on in the thread, I just have one thing to contribute them I'm back to watching this unfold.Im pretty sure that in most modern/good justice systems and prisons rapists get moved to a separate unit with all the other rapists and i see what your saying and agree that prison is a horrible place but its not as simple as sitting in a box they get the privilege of going out of there cell to eat and exercise which i dont think they even deserve that.
Just think about it, is capital punishment not the merciful thing to do?
Would you really rather site in a shitty prison for life than take a quick and painless exit? Maybe that's just me, but I'm not gonna sit in a box and be treated like a less-than person for life.
And I don't know how well versed you are in terms of how prisons actually work, but the whole mistreatment of inmates by both inmates and C.O.s thing is very selective. People in there are still people. Individuals who abuse/kill children are monsters, and even the people who made mistakes in their lives (inmates) share that opinion. And the monster isn't gonna be treated well in prison. Nobody is a fan of people who do things to children. And as wrong as it is, that's almost a satisfying thought. That monsters get what they deserve in prison.

Personally I have to agree. If they can take another persons life away why should they live? Same with rape, it destroys and ruins someone.

You're saying we should rape rapists?

No but with the death penalty. Rape is horrible.

I believe in the "an eye for an eye" mentality. Let's say Joe kills Bob, I think someone from Bobs family should be able to kill Joe (or opt out for a lethal injection or something) in the same way Joe killed bob. Rape is harder, I don't know if having lines in jail for people to be raped is the best idea, but who knows.

What if it was one of your family members then would you want them to be dead?
I know that i wouldn't want a family member dead no matter what they have done.
You need to look at other circumstances such as mental heath issues.

So because they have mental health issues they can run around killing people? The fact is, the more people that are in jail hurt the economy. We as tax payers are paying to feed and shelter them. If they can take someone else's life, why should they get to live?

The death penalty costs more than imprisoning someone for life.

For the worst crimes, life without parole is better, for many reasons. Im against the death penalty not because of sympathy for criminals, but because it doesn't reduce crime, prolongs the anguish of families of murder victims, costs a whole lot more than life in prison, and, worst of all, risks executions of innocent people.

That's because of all the legal stuff. Trust me, I could get it done for less than 10 bucks.
