Had to.

OP- Overclocking the 6300 should help a fair bit FYI, if you haven't already OC'ed. Instead of upgrading now, grab a nice cooler and just wait it out. Shouldn't be any more than 12 months for Kaby Lake/Zen. Zen, hopefully, would be a nice upgrade for you. Kaby Lake is just going to be a Skylake refresh basically, but it's worth just waiting for IMO, save up so you can grab an i7 or Zen equivalent, or something. Just my $0.02 though. Again, if you're adamant on upgrading now, I'd be getting a Skylake i5 with some DDR4 RAM and a compatible motherboard. Only two logical routes IMO. You might be able to find an 8320/8320E or something fairly cheap, if you want to grab a small upgrade without spending too much, then sell your 6300 and make most of your money back from it anyway. If you could manage to do that, so that you're essentially paying less than $50 for one of the octa core FX CPU's, that wouldn't be a terrible choice, but it won't be a significant improvement, especially in places where single core performance matters more.
