(I realize that this is sort of a half rant, it has more of a moral than most rants, but I'm still getting my point across here)

"Weird"

There's a certain misconception I want to cover that bother me a lot: this "weird" thing.

A couple days ago I was outside of the school talking to my friends, and having a good ass time. I forget what we were talking about, must have been youtube videos, and I was acting out what was in the youtube video(pretty high energy youtube video), and a girl I sort of half know walked by us, and looked at me and said, "Shawn, you're so weird." You know what I responded with? "Good."

Lets just call this girl Becky. Look, Im sorry Becky, but I would rather act different, and myself than try to meet your social standards. Social standards are so **** narrow its unbelievable. You're taught you have to be a calm, and "normal" person. You're taught to be perfect, and remove any flaw. I dont get that. If we as humans strive to be perfect, than why have none achieved that? Others sit down and cry and cry because they cant fit the norms that society has set for them. But me, I look at that in a completely different way. I realized that if I look multiple perspectives in life, I may not be able to acheive that perfection, but I can look at things differently than normal people would, and become a unique person because of it. Now lets get back to what I was talking about: "Weird".

Becky, you should try it sometime. Instead of following, strive to be yourself, pave your own path instead of trying to follow that path you were taught to follow. Reach far beyond, and you will one day find out that there is no better feeling than the realization that YOU can find yourself, and not let others tell you that you should be them.

Everyone is different in their own way.
I've always called weird by friends because of my
loving/crazy personalty.

Weird is a word like all other words. So its not a
big deal to me. ATLEAST

JFC dude, don't take it so personal. Could have just been poking fun at you, or even an attempt to flirt with you.

For him to think that, she must have said in a way of him to believe it wasn't flirtatious.

It wasn't in any of that matter, trust me dude. Facial expression: Check. Tone of voice: Check.

Also, the girl wasnt the main point of what I was explaining. I brought her up to explain my point more clearly, so I can relate it to a social situation. I am talking about social standards here, so I brought her up. I'm not even trying to shame the girl too, if that's the vibe you're getting here. I literally am giving her a moral to her situation. I feel bad she was brought up that way. (I know the girl a little bit, heard about her I can tell shes THAT type of girl.)

**** being normal, what has it ever done for me? When I'm myself, I feel like my life has purpose. Whenever I try to fit in, and live up to societies abysmal standards, I find myself in a very depressed of mind, almost like nothing matters.
