i just got a new benQ monitor but when i hooked it up everything was small like my desktop icons and everything else, i also put the resolution where it should be but that didn't fix anything.

The icons are the only thing that is small?
Anyways, just change the size of your icons.
right click on desktop, press view, change icon sizes.
Assuming this is your problem.

Are you using a higher resolution than before? Or higher than you're used to? If so, high resolution = more space = smaller things because more space.
If not, make sure you update text size and icon size to your liking.

Also check to make sure your current resolution is native to your monitor.

That's what i just did and it fixed it.
