hey guys, I am NOT looking to build this PC right now, but was wondering if you guys could tell me what's wrong with it and whats could be changed. It will be mostly used for gaming and VFX/GFX

I dont know much about pc's but I would swap out the 970 with a 390 and the cooler aswell.

Bad(IMO):

400W PSU; I personally wouldn't want a 400W PSU running an i7 and a 970, i think thats pushing it too far.

SSD: You have no SSD selected? I doubt you'll need 5TB of space, could be wrong, but i doubt it, grab a 120GB SSD and a 2TB drive like i have, should be plenty.

CPU: You got a Z97 Board, but a locked CPU? you may not even know this, before i complain, but you have a non 'K' CPU, you wont be able to overclock.

That's within the same price as your mock up and is a tad better IMO.
