I think diamond makes the game unenjoyable. Everyone is grinding for diamond and it just pisses people off.

I've only got a Gold AN-44, that's it.

I haven't gone for Diamond guns this year, I'm going for all of the Specialists. I've completed all of the first 4, and got the other 5 to do.
