Need help with MUT

I like NFL, just getting back into following it and its fair to say I do not have a great knowledge of players.
I reckon my team is pretty decent. Go Big Ben at QB with some good receivers with Cooper and Witten being my main guys. Pretty much got majority of my guys 80+ overall with a 83 rated team.
I got lets say 10k, who are some good players to buy? Who is worth saving up for?
Also, is it worth it getting players to suit your playstyle? Is that like chemistry like in FIFA ultimate team?
(This is my first real attempt at MUT, tried it in Madden 12, but it was pretty poorly displayed and cluttered)
