and how NOT to play Domination. It might seem so simple, but I feel theres a few things about Domination that could be explained a little bit more. Theres a lot of people playing it (I think its the third most popular gametype) and its one of my favorite. So therefore I thought this would be nice to some players out there! It turned out as a list with 10 tips on playing Domination. Feel free to add a comment if you disagree (or agree for that matter), I hope you enjoy it.

Try to control two out of three flags. This forces the enemy team to spawn around the third flag, creating a nice and controllable situation. If you have all three flags, enemies start to spawn everywhere, making the situation very hard to control.

Never leave a flag alone! If you see theres nobody guarding a flag, go there and do it yourself!

Dont all go for the nearest flag; instead, the majority of players should head to the flag where the fight is going to be.

Some flags are easier to guard than others. Go for the easy ones.

At the start of the game, its often easy to go to the first flag the enemy captured and take it over. If youre lucky, theyre gone, to capture another flag.

Be a little bit aggressive. Dont wait around the flag (even if youre defending it), keep moving and actively looking for enemies. This effectively makes the area you can control bigger.

C4 is great.

There are always at least two (most of the time three) main access routes to a flag.

Use those different routes! Flank them! Surround them! Be creative :-)
Sometimes if you play with random people, you get the situation where everybody is taking over everybodys flags. It might be impossible to defend one flag. In that cases, it might be better to go with the flow.

Its not Team Deathmatch! Your kill/death-ratio does not matter. So when you play
Domination, be prepared to sacrifice that! Although, if youre doing well, you will most likely end up with a decent kill/death-ratio (unless your opponent is playing TDM against you, but they will lose!). Its about winning, not about your personal statistics. So if you have to put yourself on the line to protect a flag from being taken, do it! You might have to get used to this, cause theres so many people treating it like TDM. But when youre accustomed to it, its a lot more rewarding, I promise.
