Hey, so I have this laptop:

It has pretty good spec (at least I think), but trying to run some games it doesn't work well at all. For example; it runs call of duty black ops 2 perfect on high settings. But on black ops 3 it runs poorly, even on low settings (on 1920x1080 resolution and high/high settings it gets like 3 fps). On other games such as Soma, I expected it to run well because its not a huge game, but even on low settings, playing with 1440x900 resolution (should be 1920x1080 normally) its still pretty laggy with fps issues. Opening some games just auto changes the resolution to way lower than what it should be (and windows gives a notification like 'this is not the correct resolution' but even then the games don't run well. But it runs games like black ops 2, league of legends, world of warcraft all smoothly. Im not particularly good with computers, but could anyone offer some wisdom or advice to what may be the problem?

Well black ops 2 isnt a very intense game compared to blacks ops 3. Download speccy and post a screenshot so we can see your specs

This is from Soma which runs okay (playable but low fps); [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

and this from Black Ops 3 (really low fps and unplayable); [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

and League of legends which runs pretty perfectly;

I got a laptop with similar specs and can run BO3 well. BO3 PC Specs are well in yours aswell.

Do you tend to download alot of things? It could be that you've downloaded things that could be running your computer processes high in the background even though you cant see them. I am not sure on this, its just a guess.

I tend to download movies and such but little programs or things. I checked processes and there was little aside from just standard windows stuff. Is wiping the computer completely likely to solve anything? Or is it potentially more so of a problem that that?
