The Build
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Info
Any feedback would be great. This will be my first build so I'm sure there are other parts than the ones I have selected to consider. I currently have 2 monitors though I'm considering getting a third. I am not a fan of the new Windows OS and intend on holding onto Windows 7. My goal with this build is to offer high performance (FPS) while playing games while recording the gameplay. I also want this build to be able to handle multiple applications at once without a drop in performance.
Budget
$2000 (CAD)

If you can go over a tad. Killer GPU, unlockable CPU, 16gb will help with rendering, editing, recording, and multi-tasking along with the CPU, nice SSD for OS and some games, could add another 980ti if you want
Get Windows the free way, or if you insist on buying it, get it off of [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] .
With the 980ti, I'd invest in a 4k panel, or at least a 1440p panel, that is if you dont have one. Its way overkill for 1080p, but if you're gaming on both monitors, and possibly a third one, then it should run fine.

I would suggest getting Windows 10 instead of windows 7 As DirectX 12 will not work with windows 7.
If you dont like the windows 10 Layout you can get an add on called Start8 that basically makes it look like windows 7 with all the same layout ect..

I'd say drop the DVD drive unless you really need it. Almost all of your hardware's drivers are available online. I bought one and it ended up just wasting space.
I would also recommend moving to win10 instead of staying on win7, DX12 will be great for gaming performance and as -BBK- said there are extensions and addons out there that make your PC look and act like win7.

There's no reason to stick with Win7 considering it's not a supported OS any more, Win10 has multiple performance improvements over it, and you'll need Win10 for DX12 support and what not anyway. Win10 is just a better OS, and it's not expensive anyway. You can buy a Win8 key for like $20 on reddit.com/r/microsoftsoftwareswap, and then upgrade to Win10 Pro for free.

XFire support, can easily add a 2nd GPU at any point, if you wish. R9 Nano is the same price as the 980 and far superior. Still get an i7, but Skylake i7 instead, can OC if you wish. Get this cooler instead, if you'd prefer air;

1TB HDD and 250GB SSD in a $2k budget is way too minimal, 500GB SSD and a 2TB HDD would be far better suited to the rig, and even 2.5TB could run out pretty quickly, trust me. Enthoo Pro M is a great case, have built in it myself, was ezpz.
