I see where you're coming from with this. Horror as a genre is complete shit now. Most films that I have seen that are categorized as a horror I wouldn't even consider a horror because they simply are not scary. The only film that I would consider scary is Grave Encounters as that was a film I found scary at the time. Films like The Conjuring which was highly overrated was a pathetic attempt as a horror film IMO. I could say more about this rant but I'd rather keep it short.

Just so people know, there is no wrong or right as this rant is based on opinions.

Every movie I see now these day that's are suppose to be scary isn't even scary.

So usually I don't watch that many so called scary movies.

I rather watch comedy or action packed.

I agree. No movie scares me anymore. The Forest was really good, and The Conjuring 2 looks really creepy!

Another thing is that horror movies have a bad rep of spoiling movies in the trailers. Nowadays when you watch a trailer the whole plot is given away and you walk out of the theater disappointed and/or pissed. The plot of The Forest was pretty much given away in it's trailer.

The majority of horror movies are of a very low standard today, i agree. I actually avoid watching them in cinemas all together these days.

I guess at the same time though it makes a good horror movie so much better

See those are movies I love and will always love and call a true genuine horror. Don't think you'll come across anything as good as those 2 anymore though in the future.

I have to agree, they did make the visit seem like it was a lot scarier in the trailers than it was in the actual movie.

I was actually really disappointed by the movie to be honest. Its a common trend, but the boy was a fairly good movie if you are into slasher type horror movies.

I don't know
I usually just watch for the story line
Insidious wasn't too scary, but I enjoyed the story
