it's fairly easy to avoid, don't listen to the radio or whatever and listen to older music if that's what you prefer.

I hard find it hard to believe how music today is all about drugs, getting girls, and how you will clap some on up if there aren't in the gang you are in.

What happened to real music? I was scrolling through YouTube looking at some of my favorite songs and just thought, what if music was like this now a days? Would our generation be different.

I am talking about some of these rappers who think that they are the shit and people praise them and bump there music even though you cant understand them.

LOL, what is your idea of real music? Just because a certain genre of music does not suit your taste, does not mean that it is not "real music". And what is with you idioms?
What you said makes no sense so please explain... "and how you will clap some on up if there aren't in the gang you are in. " Just learn to accept music for what it is.

I totally agree on this topic here, todays artists changing the way the music used to be. The worrying thing is that people just go with it and follow the artists and that's why I think todays music it's all over the shop.

It's all about this days
Hoes
Money
Drugs
Drink
Selfharm
etc..

How can possibly generalize an entire generation of music because of a few artists/styles.
Do you really not see how narrow minded that makes you look?

"I hard find it hard to believe how music today is all about drugs, getting girls, and how you will clap some on up if there aren't in the gang you are in."

Right, because Biggie never mentioned any of that.
WuTang never once flexed in their songs.
Pac was different, he didn't even know what girls were.

Every single generation of rap has money, drugs, girls, and hollow threats in it. That's part of the genre. It's artists talking about the life they live.

In your opinion, what is "real music?"
Because you're whining about how you can't understand contemporary artists but I have a feeling you're just being a hipster and hating on trending music to make yourself feel like a special snowflake.

Go listen to Purple Reign, Future is one of the most stereotypical rappers of today. But he's raw as hell in that and talks about his emotions, but I would be willing to bet you didn't give that a shot before you made this silly, broad generalization of an entire generation.

Like what you like man, but don't class an entire generation of music because of a few shitty artists.

If what you are hearing from these "rappers" (There is a wide span of rappers and should not be classified as one group) who rap about girls, drugs, killing people, etc, then first off don't listen to the music. Not trying to sound rude but if you do not like a genre of music, do not bother yourself over it. Also, lyrics reflect the thoughts and feelings of the people saying them, if they are rapping about it, chances are it is evident in their life. Maybe they grew up and lived in an environment different from where you did, therefore causing you to not understand the "struggle". Also this type of music is a cultural thing as well. Although it may be a little harder to understand coming from newer artists guns, money, girls, killing people, was still talked about years ago with that of Tupac and others of that era. There is plenty of good music, and good RAP that does not fall under this criteria. Hope you can expand your horizons and find something good, as there is plenty of that out there!

I agree music has gotten not so great, with rap it all sounds the same nowadays, no originality what so ever, with country its even worse I think, all this new country isn't even country any more, all you hear is big trucks fishing and its just turned into pop music, don't get me wrong I enjoy listening to rap, but not a lot of the newer mainstream artists, I'll always love me some good old country and classic rock, can't really go wrong there in my opinion
