Ok i had java installed and I think my computer got a virus. So my mom removed it and set it back to where the virus was not there. I had to install java again but it wouldnt finish. I tried to install 6u23 on a windows 7.
here is what it says: lib/charsets.jar: Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update since file contents do not match.
after that another thing pops up: JAVA (TM) Update fails to apply changes to your system.
and then: Error 1722 there is a problem with this windows installer package. a program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. contact your support personnel or package vendor
PLEASE HELPPP !!!!!! LOTS OF REP WILL BE GIVIN

Your on TTG and your mom removed a virus for you?
No, but perhaps go to a system restore point a while before you downloaded java and before the one that your mom loaded. And then delete the system restore points ahead of you? Maybe clear your system cache and stuff to make sure that there are no files left from the previous install.
I dont know man but there seems to be a problem with the .msi file so just download it again and it should work?
Alternatively you could leave it to a computer store and let them do it for you!

have your mom try to download it?? loljk. But your system restore probably didnt get fully through when you tried to install java. That's what happened to me when jdk 22 came out. just try to download it now and it should work.

I had this EXACT same error on my last laptop. My step-dad deleted Java and i got that error. I tried everything. Restoring doesnt work.... I just took it to my local best buy and they fixed it for free.
