I played a few games against him last year in the CHL and he is probably one of the scariest forwards to watch coming towards you as a goalie because its always really hard to anticipate what hes going to do. He's a lot more talented than you think he is, and I know he puts in a ton of time and hours to stay that way.

For instance, a few ways goalies tell what is going to happen is by looking at the players stick position and their eyes, and both of those Connor is really good at disguising. He's got really fast hands so even if he has his blade pointed towards the net and is in a shooting position, he can quickly change it up for a pass, and he is very good at eye fakes. Im telling you right now as a goalie that has played against him, he gives very few clues as to where he is gonna put the puck which makes it hard for goalies to react.

You literally gave the characteristics of any above good player in the CHL. By watching him play most of his games in the chel there is no way in **** you can compare him to Gretzky/Lemieux, etc.

Comparing anyone to gretzky these days doesn't even mean anything really because the game has changed so much since Gretzky played that the comparison isn't really even valid anymore. The game speed has raised a ton, the style of the game has raised a ton, and the overall skill needed to compete at the professional level has also raised by a lot.

If you put Gretzky in his prime in the NHL today, he wouldn't be the same as he was when he played. The goalies have gotten better/more advanced, the game overall has gotten a lot harder and there is a lot more competition now than there was back then.

I'm just saying that in a few years, McDavid is going to be one of the top players in the NHL, that's all. No need for comparisons because he his skilled in his own ways and trust me, you will see that as he builds himself as an established star in the Chel.
